    What is ILOE?

ILOE stands for Involuntary Loss of Employment insurance.

ILOE is the UAE's mandatory unemployment insurance scheme, providing eligible private-sector and federal employees with limited income support after involuntary job loss.

    ILOE explained

Employees subscribe and pay a small premium set by salary band. Following involuntary termination, a subscriber who meets the contribution requirements can claim a capped percentage of average salary for a limited number of months.

The obligation sits with the employee rather than the employer, but employers are commonly expected to inform staff and support enrolment. Non-subscription can attract penalties and affect work-permit transactions.
